Recently, Jelle Klaas wrote a blog for the EDAL, the European Database of Asylum Law, on the PILP case regarding Afghan 1F’ers. The blog speaks to their access to the EU Court of Justice, or lack thereof. It seeks to further explain the specific problems faced by these asylum-seekers in the Netherlands and the way in which the PILP is involved. This type of action against the State has not been raised before. The unique collaboration of lawyers and NGOs, with a variety of experience from corporate to human rights law, should bring about an interesting new procedural approach. Together, they will work for a fair resolution for those with 1F status in the Netherlands.
